FOR PETE'S SAKE, Piper Cove ChroniclesBy Linda WindsorDescription:
Ellen isn’t sure true love exists until she contracts to landscape the estate of her sophisticated new neighbor. Adrian Sinclair has it all--at least on the surface. A successful businessman, he’s engaged to a beautiful woman and he’ll soon have a step-mom for his troubled son Pete. Yet, from the moment Ellen rescues a stranded Adrian on her Harley, his well-ordered world turns upside down. With his business under investigation for espionage and his son pushing for the tomboy next door as his new mom, Adrian’s façade of happiness shatters, revealing the void of faith and love in his life. Book Takeaway:We face a lot of trials in family, careers and matters of the heart, but, while God doesn't move those mountains, He smooths the way. So in addition to the love and laughter, I pray the reader will take that reassurance with her. Awards:
Why the author wrote this book:This is the second in the series about bosom buddies set in my stomping grounds on the Eastern Shore of MD, the Ocean City and bayside area. Of all the heroines, I think Ellen is most like me. She was so easy to write and I just love her sense of humor. It's just like mine<g>. If I couldn't laugh at myself, I'd be one sorry soul. God gave me that sense of humor to get me through chemical depression, not that Ellen has that. She does face some career issues like I have. And she has the same wacky, but stalwart friends to see her through tough times. And my hero is proof positive that wealth doesn't make us happy. He needs Cinderella on a Harley to turn his head around. |
