As is so often the case, this story was written while God was teaching me about something in my life. At the time the idea took root, God was reminding me that I needed to be fully present in the lives of my family members. You know, sometimes we get so caught up in problems and busyness we forget to appreciate the people right under our noses. God is good and has blessed us with people to love and care for.

Why the author wrote this book:

I wanted to write a story with a heroine who was a microbiologist, my career before I had children and started writing. I also enjoy doing stories with friends who become more than friends.
