Life doesn't always go as you think it should. Family matters. Why the author wrote this book:My mother as her last wish asked me to tell people to NOT have a Whipple procedure done for pancreatic cancer. I'd taken a pause in my writing but I felt compelled to finally honor my mother's last request of me--I want to do something that might reach more people. However, as a historical romance author in CF, I realized that I would have to venture out into uncharted waters for me. The story had to be contemporary, since the Whipple is a modern invention although Mom would have considered it a torture device. I wrote three endings to this book before finally settling on the actual end that I gave it. |
