Campus Menace

By Preston Shires

Description:

Tasia Everett, a beautiful co-ed, goes missing, and it's increasingly clear there's a murderer loose on campus, and somebody needs to find the culprit. What better team of detectives than Tristan Telsmith, a religion-mocking professor, and Cambria Davenport, his Bible-thumping student. In this 'who done it,' the mystery comes first, but it's equally entertaining to listen to the religious-minded Cambria trying to match wits with the atheistic professor...or is it the other way round?

Book Takeaway:

There are more sensible arguments for the reliability of Scripture than there are to the contrary.

Why the author wrote this book:

I once wrote a critique of Bart Ehrman's book Misquoting Jesus, which claims to prove the unreliability of Scripture. Reading over my small tome, however, I became quickly bored, set it aside, and read an entertaining mystery instead. Then it dawned on me: Why not work some of my objections to Ehrman's book into a novel, make them palatable?

In Campus Menace, I think I succeeded. Although the mystery is front and center, a few, but certainly not all, of my objections to Ehrman's claims make their way into the story line.

My hope is that Campus Menace give confidence to those Christians who are challenged in their faith by hostile and atheistic arguments designed to undermine a their trust in Scripture, and hence, in God.
