Tripping Over Christmas

By Jenna Hendricks

Description:

Eloise Sullivan is an ADA Coordinator from Texas who was sent right before Thanksgiving to unearth the events surrounding the attack by a cow on one of the injured veterans who had gone to the Crooked Arrow Ranch to recover from his war injuries.

Nothing seemed to be up to standards. There weren’t any handrails to help someone get around. No truncated domes and detectible warning pavers. Shoot, most of the surrounding environment was dirt and snow. If it were up to her, she’d close down the ranch.

Marty Winters had lost part of his leg in an IED explosion while serving in Iraq. In order to finish his long recovery, the VA sent him to the Crooked Arrow Ranch to heal. Instead of getting better, he was run down by a charging cow of all things.

Now, an ADA Coordinator who was bent on closing the ranch, and just before Christmas too, had come to town. All because of him. It was up to him to ensure she understood how much the veterans needed this ranch, and more like them, in order to recover and find new meaning and purpose after having their entire world shattered by a war injury.

Will the beauty of the landscape coupled with the joys of the Christmas season work to heal an injured woman who never had the benefits of a place like the Crooked Arrow? And will love’s arrow pierce the hard shell she’s had to encase around her heart just to survive?

Grab your copy of Tripping Over Christmas now and see why so many veterans and their families/friends have found kinship with the stories of the Crooked Arrow Ranch.

Book Takeaway:

There is more to a story than just what is in a report. In order to understand what is really happening, one must investigate. And sometimes law or regulations that were written to help a group of people need to be looked at from all angles, not just from a big city. Life on a ranch has different needs and hazards than the city does.

Why the author wrote this book:

So many people had either left reviews, or written directly to me, thanking me for sharing what it's like for a veteran in this day and age. Even those with disabilities not from the military felt a kinship with the books. I felt it was important that more stories be told, so there will be more books in this series.
