Why the author wrote this book:

When my publisher asked for a mystery/suspense during a particular festival in Texas, I immediately thought of bringing the FBI to confront terror attacks on American soil. Putting two agents with a lot of past experience together means there must be trust between them. It reminds me of how we need to trust God daily in every "slice of life"
