Fixed UpBy Jessica Leigh JohnsonDescription:
Blind dates, set-ups, online dating—Meg Rowland has tried them all, and so far none of it has led her to true love. That's why she's come to the conclusion that romance is overrated and it's time for her to swear off dating forever. To prove how serious she is, she's even asked her roommate to cease her matchmaking efforts. No more men for Meg. She doesn't need to be in a relationship in order to feel fulfilled. She's a librarian, after all, and she believes that a good book and a cozy blanket can rival the company of a man any day. Book Takeaway:All of us have shortcomings. We may also find fault in others in order to make ourselves feel better. But none of us will ever be good enough or perfect enough to earn God's love. God loves us because we belong to him. He paid for our sins with his son's blood—that's how much we mean to him. Why the author wrote this book:I had originally come up with this idea as a flash fiction piece. It was supposed to take place during one date, about six hours total. Eventually it morphed into something longer. I really got into the character and had a blast using mishaps from my own personal dating history to add to the plot. A sermon that my pastor preached one Sunday inspired me to make the point of this novel about finding your value in Christ. |
