Why the author wrote this book:

I wanted to write about triplets and what happens when a secret about adoption is kept by two mothers for twenty-two years. I used cancer to cause the birth mother to want the truth to be revealed. Unfortunately, I ended up having cancer before I finished writing the book. It was hard to believe that I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, the same type that Lindsay has in The Amish Mother's Secret.
