Thrown to the Wind
Description:
“It would have to be now or never. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and jumped!”
Based on a true story. In October 1660, Etienne Gayneau rushes through the cobblestone streets of La Rochelle, France, to the harbor, where a ship carrying King Louis XIV’s fabled musketeers is docking. He senses that something momentous is happening, but doesn’t realize that their arrival will send his Huguenot family into exile,
Etienne's family is fleeing La Rochelle in the dead of night to avoid arrest, but his cousin has offered him a safe haven. Now he must choose - stay and pursue his dream of becoming a musketeer or leave and face an uncertain destiny. Both choices are fraught with dangers. Either way his life will never be the same.
“Cetas skillfully plots Etienne’s journey as an uphill climb full of switchbacks, with determination gradually replacing indecision, and a clear-eyed faith supplanting fantastical visions.” – BookLife Review
Book Takeaway:

Why the author wrote this book:
This book is a culmination of decades of researching my family genealogy and teaching history to middle and high school students. f wanted to show how ordinary people are impacted by the greater events of history and how the decisions they make in turn impact history. While the book was not strictly-speaking written as a Christian historical fiction, it most definantly has a Christian World View.
