Drive Me To the Moon

By Mike Baines

Description:

Marcy Jones was hired right out of high school to work on a 20-person wildland fire fighting crew. Now, she and her husband are trying to make their Idaho ranch solvent. To bring in extra money, she agrees to use the family transport truck to move equipment around working a wildfire. Going back into fire camp culture is different from when she was on a crew. She experiences gender biases and prejudices. Twice events nearly cost her her life. She draws strength from God and from her family back home.
The story is fictionalized from the author's 40-plus years as a militia wildland firefighter and career U.S. Forest Service employee. Real-life is often stranger than fiction. After going on fire after fire with the responsibility of preaching mutual respect and dealing with those inter-personal situations that have nothing to do with putting the fire out, the author has more than enough real-life foundational material to write this and many other fictional books!

Book Takeaway:

We live in a fallen world where Satan is hard at work. The only sermon a non-believer may ever hear is watching a Christian. We must always be looking for opportunities to share the Good News!

Why the author wrote this book:

God has provided me with a vehicle into the good and bad of people's lives. I had been feeling it was a shame that the struggles I witnessed would remain untold. This book allows me to share real-life accounts cloaked in the disguise of fiction
