Why the author wrote this book:

I'd wanted to write about a middle-aged couple, both widowed, who find love again in a town by the ocean. This story is dedicated in memory of my dear friend Debbie, who loved the beach and was one of the biggest supporters of my writing. She left us last summer, much too soon. This is for you, Debbie.
