Sacred Trust

By Carrie Daws

Description:

A war wages for the kids of Silver Heights, and he won’t stand for it.

After arresting two teens for arson last fall, a girl goes missing. Detective Samuel Campos works with his fellow officers and the FBI to search for her while trusting God in a new way to find her. As he works the case, Sam determines to do more to protect the local kids but a menacing presence surfaces. When he begins to hear rumors about a man called Felipe, his curiosity is piqued. He senses there is more to the story than is being told.

But, is this a master criminal manipulating kids or a clever alias for local trouble?

Sam digs in, asking questions and pulling evidence from cold cases. However, the more he discovers, the more questions he creates. Is this someone so good at covering his tracks that law enforcement can’t get a handle on him? Or is someone with a good imagination manipulating police? Even if he can track him down, too much about his case against Felipe is circumstantial.

Sam is uncertain how to proceed—until his own children are threatened.

Book Takeaway:

God is faithful in His provision and timing even when it doesn't look like it.

Why the author wrote this book:

We ask so much of our police and other first responders, often forgetting that they too are humans with family problems and personal doubts. I wanted to look at that, and consider what those who are striving to follow God go through in the normal course of their job.
