Wooing Cadie McCaffreyBy Bethany TurnerDescription:
"Romantics everywhere will sigh happily at the perfect ending."--Colleen Coble, USA Today bestselling author Book Takeaway:Love. Love is the theme. Not just romance, although obviously the romance is present in abundance. I wanted to present Cadie and Will as two people who love deeply and are fiercely loyal. Though we do get to see how they met—that initial attraction and flirtation—the bulk of the story takes place after four years of loving, caring for, and being unwaveringly faithful to each other. And yet they have reached a point where it’s all being called into question and they’re doubting even what they know to be true. I think that is so representative of how we are with God sometimes. Through Cadie and Will’s relationship with each other and their individual relationships with God, we get to examine what love really looks like. Why the author wrote this book:I would love for readers to finish this book with a satisfied smile on their face, having spent time with some made-up people who went through some extremely realistic challenges—even if they dealt with those challenges in some straight-from-the-movies sorts of ways. At the heart of it all is the faithfulness of a very real Savior, whose love is not dependent upon our perfection, and that’s the most important thing to take away. But I also hope readers take away an understanding that the love stories we see play out in the movies—as much as we love them—will always pale in comparison to the romance of a man and a woman loving each other madly, and loving God even more. |
