Entangled

By Darrell Powell

Description:

"I want you to write a memoir."

At eighty-six years old, life for Lance Wayne Osgood hasn't unfolded the way he thought it would. Unexpected personal losses have marked much of his existence, leaving more questions than answers.

Then a mysterious old friend pays Lance a surprise visit and persuades him to write a memoir of his life and their friendship. He explains that God will use the memoir to benefit a future generation. Lance reluctantly accepts the request, and as a result his writing reveals the supernatural working through the family challenges he has faced in his life.

Fear. Family turmoil. Suicide. A life given to the desires of the flesh. Surely God has no use for a sinner like Lance-or does He?

Book Takeaway:

The lies of the Father of Lies, fear, depression and the emotional trauma of suicide melt when exposed to the love, peace, and grace of God.

Why the author wrote this book:

I have battled depression since the mid-1980s. Anger, hopelessness, and a cavalier lifestyle defined who I was. In 2010 it became necessary for me to assist my parents with their chronic medical issues. On May 18, 2010 at 7:20 p.m. my mother died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. I was in the house when mom died. Her passing allowed PTSD, a profound fear of God, and greedy people to enter my life while and attempt to drive a wedge between my father and I as we grieved for mom. In the midst of this chaos God inspired me to write Entangled. Entangled was written to help shed light on the sinister effects of depression, PTSD, suicide while revealing God remains with us even when we experience extreme emotional distress.
