Born in New Orleans, Christa has lived in Louisiana almost her entire life with the exception of a hiatus in Texas. She is the mother of five grown children and two grandgirls.

Christa now lives in Abita Springs with her husband Ken and their three neurotic cats. She is a National Board Certified teacher who currently teaches high school. She and her husband play golf and dodge hurricanes.
