Chosen Ones

By Eileen Hinkle Rife

Description:

Life in Chennai, India is complicated. While Maggie and Gavin Munsfield adjust to a new baby, missionary friends, Dan and Yvonne Pratt, experience the heartbreak of infertility and miscarriage. When their lives intersect with a young girl caught up in the horrors of sex trafficking, each of them will receive a precious gift. But will they find it in their hearts to accept an outcome so different than what they expected and hoped for?

Book Takeaway:

This is the fictional story of one child caught in the snare of forced prostitution who comes face-to-face with a couple desperate to be parents. While it is not a pretty story, it is a story similar to what occurs all over the world every day. We dare not turn our faces away from these broken ones. James 1:27 tells us that religion that is pure is religion that looks after orphans in their distress. No one is in greater distress today than young girls who because of poverty and a multitude of other vulnerabilities fall prey to sex trafficking. I want to create awareness about this horrific crime that enslaves 12.3 million victims at any given time and stimulate the reader to action on behalf of these hurting ones.

Why the author wrote this book:

My personal burden for human trafficking emerged as the result of my daughters. As a mom, my girls’ concerns have become my own. Recently, my last-born married an MK from Cambodia. Their heart is to minister to sex trafficked girls. My second-born also shares that heart to the point of spending sleepless nights in tears. As I researched human trafficking, their passion became my own, and thus CHOSEN ONES was born.
