Inside the Ten-Foot Line

By Lori Z. Scott

Description:

Sophomore high school student Lorali Mathews has one goal: win a scholarship to play volleyball at a Division One school. The only things standing in her way? A losing streak. A toxic teammate. A murderous man. A distracting boy. Yucky kale chips. And about four inches in height.

But when a teammate harboring a dangerous secret entangles Lorali in her drama, Lorali ends up with a new goal. Survive. Because unless the two work together, Lorali might lose more than a scholarship opportunity. She might lose her life.

Book Takeaway:

God has a plan and purpose for our lives. He doesn't always give us the "good" we want, but always provides us the "good" we need.

Awards:

Year Title Description
2023 Illumination Book Award Silver medal in the YA category for exemplary Christian fiction

Why the author wrote this book:

People want to see themselves represented in books. I struggled to find books geared for female athletes. As a former college volleyball player and award-winning author, I felt uniquely qualified to address this inequity with this book.
