The Wanderer Scorned

By Natasha Woodcraft

Description:

Kayin lives in the shadow of his parents’ expulsion from the Garden of Eden and its lingering cloud of shame. His belief in the Creator battles with his struggle for affirmation. When suffering comes and sibling rivalry threatens, Kayin wrestles with God, grasping at shards of faith. The noise of his doubts and fears compound, until his youthful trust lies shattered, replaced by a dance of pride and jealousy.

As Kayin spirals, misunderstandings within the family dynamic dominate, and whispers of temptation slither through the cracks. Then a chance at redemption presents itself, as Kayin and his brother bring sacrifices to Yahweh.

But sin is crouching at Kayin's door, ready to pounce. Can he master it, before it masters him?

Book Takeaway:

‘Because life is not just about food, Kayin! It is not just about providing for your family – much as we appreciate you doing so. I have a suspicion that life is not even about us, but that He made us for something bigger than ourselves. We were created for the Creator. He has purposes for us that go beyond the skills He has given us, and He desires to know each one of us. We just need to trust Him.’

Why the author wrote this book:

I wrote this book because I desired to explore the character of Cain, the first murderer. Why was his sacrifice deed unworthy by God? What would compel him to commit the actions he did? Cain is a figure who was demonized in ancient literature. I present him in a human light, not to justify his actions but to acknowledge that evil is present in all human hearts. We are all capable of jealousy and anger; we all fall short of God’s glory and need a Saviour.
