A Misplaced BeautyBy Amy Lynn WalshDescription:
Georgina Huxington has been the toast of London for three straight seasons due to her beauty, wit, and rejection of many suitors. When she discovers that her sisters greatly fear her pickiness is jeopardizing their own chances of making a satisfactory marriage, she promises to marry the next man who proposes; as long as her father believes the man will make a considerate husband. Book Takeaway:God is the source of every good thing. He forgives and He can heal even the most broken of relationships. He enables us to have an inner beauty that will be attractive even into old age. Why the author wrote this book:I felt that romance novels could have the tendency to make women dissatisfied with their relationships since this genre often involves women ending up with a "happily ever after" after a period of angst with very handsome, very wealthy, and often domineering males. I also felt that this could lead young ladies to focus on superficial beauty instead of the biblical beauty within, and to be attracted to men who would make terrible husbands. Hence, my quest was to make the reader fall in love with a physically imperfect, but very kind and humble man, while realizing that it is God that must be the desire of a woman's heart if she is to have a happy marriage. |
