9th Grade with My Expanding Experiences, My Rollercoaster Relationships, & MeBy Kelsey GallantDescription:Allisen says: "How is it that I’m in high school already? Freshman year was a collage of ups and downs—from the ecstatic feeling of having a huge crush to the heartbreaking blow of a tragedy no one was prepared for. It was a year of realizing that people hold secrets, and that no matter how well I might think I know my classmates, it’s possible that I don’t know them at all. It was a season of becoming closer to God, and of having to make some important decisions that could significantly impact other people’s lives. Most of all, it was a time of realizing how much I need my friends—and how much they need me." Book Takeaway:Life is full of challenges, big and small, but you don't have to go through them alone. Why the author wrote this book:This is the fourth book in my Allisen's Notebooks series. I started writing the first draft of the series when I was eleven, because I had always enjoyed realistic fiction series about girls my age and wanted to write my own. As I got older and started to edit the series and create new content, I started thinking specifically about what kinds of messages I wanted to send to my readers. I chose to cover some difficult topics because I wanted to show positive ways to deal with the kinds of challenges teens may have to face. |
