Retired school librarian Rebecca Sutherland, another respected member of the community, is determined not to just sit there and feel sorry. Although she is preparing to leave for a two-year position on Guam, Rebecca and fire chief Andy Hatfield attempt to unravel the mystery of the fire.

the the ensuing time of outrage and loneliness, Rebecca and Andy discovered romance and real love after age fifty can happen for them too. Yet, will their love become as distance as Rebecca's island home, or will it continue to flourish, guided only the the Lord.

Why the author wrote this book:

The power of mentoring is vital for spiritual growth. Much has been written from the viewpoint of the young, but little has been written from the viewpoint of the mature woman. When I was a young woman living in Montana away from my family, two older women had a profound impact on my life and I based the impact of the heroines life on the influence these women had on my own life.
