DAVID--The Illustrated Novel, Vol. I
Description:
1025 BC to 970 BC. Israel wants protection against its pagan neighbors. However, the Israelites keep doing it their way, not God's way. God chooses David to lead Israel, but then must intervene many times and in mysteries ways by our standards today.
Volume I are the events and people that surrounded and defined David from age 15 to 30. He was the boy shepherd, the poet, the musician, the anointed, the warrior, the hunted, the Ephod, and the seeker of God's heart. Few men in history can compare with David's charismatic personality and Adonis good looks. His features were so strong and so handsome that women vied for his attention. As a warrior who killed thousands in battle, his troops openly adored him. Yet, King Saul, and others, were hell-bent on killing him. Saul's son Jonathan--Saul's son and next in line for the throne--not only befriended David, but saved his life on more than one occasion.
