Why the author wrote this book:

I grew up in an alcoholic home, always desiring to live a 'normal' life. I began writing fantasy fiction because I love it, but was turned down many times by agents and editors. Their advice was always to write what I know. I knew dysfunction, and longing, and overcoming. So, I wrote Knee-high Lies.
