Why the author wrote this book:

The story of Jezebel's daughter, Queen Athaliah (2 Kings 11), has always bothered me. When I don't understand a Scripture, I feel compelled to research it. Writing this book helped me realize the depth of depravity Jezebel brought into Israel and her daughter Athaliah spread into Judah, but it also emphasized the complete sovereignty of our all-powerful God in what seemed a hopeless situation.
