Love Defined (Remnants)

By Elizabeth Maddrey

Description:

Dreams Change. Plans Fail.

July (pronounced "Julie") and Gareth have reached the end of their infertility treatment options. With conflicting feelings on adoption, they struggle to discover common ground in their marriage. Meanwhile, July's twin sister, June, and her husband, Toby, are navigating the uncertainties of adoption and the challenges of new parenthood.

How much stretching can their relationships endure before they snap?

Book Takeaway:

Trials can bring us to the edge of breaking, but God is there with us through it all and, if we let Him, He will help us redefine the way we love to more accurately reflect His intentions.

Why the author wrote this book:

Infertility is something I've personally experienced. In the church, the pain of infertility isn't simply from your lack of children, it comes from well-meaning friends and family as well. For many Christians, the obstacles of infertility stretch not only their sense of self-worth and strain their marriage, but threaten to shatter their faith as well. I wrote this book with the prayer that couples facing infertility would find they weren't alone in their struggles and with the hope that those who have not experienced infertility might get a little insight into the minds and hearts of those who have.
