Why the author wrote this book:

Before I had children I wrote romance novels for the ABA. But after I welcomed my first baby, I promptly retired from my job as an author. For the next seven years, I poured everything I had into raising my kids. During that season I didn't hope or expect or plan to return to writing. But God, in His time, began to tug at me to craft a new story for Him and for His glory. He gave me an idea for a novel with the theme of healing, the inspiration of a hockey player hero with a broken heart, and a deep and renewed passion for the work of writing.
