A Season of Pebbles (Altered Hearts book 2)

By Roger Bruner

Description:

(Formerly published by Barbour Publishing as Lost in Dreams and also by Winged Publications.)

Grace, hope, and healing intersect in the California mountains.

From the moment eighteen-year-old Kim Hartlinger steps off the plane from a mission trip to a remote Mexican village, her journey takes a turn for the worse. As she collides with the biggest challenge of her young life—and faith—Kim struggles with haunting questions and recurring nightmares. . .all the while trying to hide a deep, dark secret.

Will Kim find the hope and healing she needs? . . . Or is her broken spirit beyond repair?

Book Takeaway:

Learning to trust Christian friends and family members enough to let them help us through the worst of times can help make "Victory in Jesus" a reality.

Why the author wrote this book:

We all face problems of various degrees of severity. Most of them are short-term--more nuisances than real problems. But each of us occasionally faces something that seems impossible to deal with. Those things threaten to trip us up spiritually, emotionally, and physically and dump us to a lower point than we've ever been before. I wanted to encourage teens and adults to take heart from God's support during those times by showing Kim's spiritual progress from Found in Translation, the first book in the Altered Hearts series, and continuing with the mission theme.
