Why the author wrote this book:

I am an Italian-American, steeped in the culture of Italy both abroad and here in the States. As the daughter and granddaughter of Italian immigrants, I grew up immersed in the lively, vibrant culture that built Little Italy in South Philly. Through my story, I wanted to convey the importance of tradition in the Italian culture and how the traditions of one generation often conflict with the new ways of thinking of younger generations. But beyond those traditions lies the will of God that supersedes them all.
