Why the author wrote this book:

During my consulting career, I spent a good amount of time with law enforcement officers working as part of a federal/state human trafficking task force, and with people involved in working with human trafficking victims. The topic was compelling and not well understood by many, and the efforts to curb the trade, often heroic.
