Colors of the Ocean

By Cheryl Fitzgerald

Description:

A multi-generational story that follows thirteen-year-old Roxi on a transformative journey as she sails across the Pacific Ocean with grandparents she barely knows. Along the way she must navigate stormy conflicts in several relationships and within herself.
Carol is hopeful this shared experience will foster a mutual bond of love with her granddaughter. She strives to put past mistakes behind and seeks to re-establish a connection with her estranged daughter.
When they reach New Zealand, Roxi must choose what she values most—return home to her old unstable life or continue on with the new family who have given her unconditional love and a true sense of belonging.

Book Takeaway:

Learn to believe in and trust God, no matter the circumstances, and grow in a relationship with Him. Provide hope and encouragement through trials. Spark a flame to experience all God's creation has to offer.

Why the author wrote this book:

I wanted to share about a unique lifestyle and remarkable voyage after after cruising around the world with my husband in our 36-foot sailboat. I decided to write "Colors of the Ocean" as a fictional story to add complexity and deeper meaning, but also to appeal to a wider audience. Then, during an unexpected season of heartache, God stepped in and guided this odyssey to also follow the faith journey of a disbelieving young teenage girl.
