An Amish Second Chance
Description:
A year after losing her husband to cancer, Hope Shetler is struggling to keep her apothecary alive. Without Elijah’s bookkeeping skills and repair work, her shelves are emptying, and her time is running out. Help comes from the last person she expected, Rueben Bontrager, Elijah’s childhood friend who vanished from her life after the funeral.
Rueben has his reasons for staying away. He carries a secret that would shatter Hope’s trust and dishonor the memory of his best friend. But when a vivid dream shows Hope closing her shop and leaving town, Rueben can’t ignore the call to step back into her life.
As the two work side by side, buried feelings stir, and long-guarded truths press to the surface. What Rueben doesn’t know is that Hope has a secret of her own.
Book Takeaway:
Life is filled with second chances if we open our hearts to the possibility.
Despite despair, loss can often strengthen us to find second chances. Love
is infinite.
Why the author wrote this book:
I wish I had a good answer for this question, but I’m afraid I don’t. I follow
the stories that God lays on my heart. In this case, I believe the message is
for those people who have lost a loved one and feel like they will never
have another chance to fall in love again, or to recapture a love that was
lost.
