Why the author wrote this book:

As someone with a family member in the TDCJ system, this book was somewhat cathartic for me. But it also reminds us that we are all saved by God's grace, and we should show mercy to those who may have made mistakes. My characters will all have flaws, but will find mercy and redemption.
