A Matter of Trust

By Rena Bell Yeager

Description:

Rachel Wilson has been cheated. Men are not to be trusted. Her husband had one affair after another until she threw him out. She spent the next fifteen years taking care of herself and her daughter, working her way up in the world of corporate Manhattan, when her livelihood was pulled out from under her again. No. Men are not to be trusted.
Randall Hudson is the owner of a large ranch in Texas Hill Country. Prime real estate by anyone’s standard. A man as comfortable in the boardroom as he is digging ditches on his ranch. When Rachel visits his resort, Randall is smitten. And he does the only thing he knows to do—buys his way into her heart, which meant buying her house in New York, so she could move to Texas.
When Rachel learns the truth about that and other things Randall had engineered, she is furious. And when her ex-husband learns the value of the house, he wants his share of the sale.
What’s a woman to do? Will she allow Randall to rescue her? Or will she give up her chance at a happy-ever-after?

Book Takeaway:

Trust is hard to give again once you have been betrayed. And that trust must be earned by the one hoping to receive it.

Why the author wrote this book:

There aren't many clean romance books for adults in mid-life. The concept offered a good segue into my upcoming series, but it also gives a glimpse of the kinds of issues that middle age brings.
