Why the author wrote this book:

I was in the process of writing a third installment for my Christmas fantasy novels, but lost steam. I pulled out an old WIP that had continually tugged at my heart-strings and decided to rework it, streamlining it and adding a Christmas theme. I wanted my beloved characters to finally have their moment to appear beyond my laptop and felt now was that time--after twenty years patiently waiting. I think God also blessed me with the words and inspiration for the reworking of this novel to keep me from plunging into a deep depression, as my husband was out of work for over two years, the second year during this rewriting.
