Author Bio:

Sophia K. Apple, MD, contracted polio as an infant in South Korea, and prevented from attending school for nearly four years because of the stigma from her disability. She came to the UC at age 13 with no knowledge of English, eventually completing medical school. Dr. Apple is a pathologist and expert in breast cancer, professor emerita at UCLA's school of medicine. At the age of 17 she was hit by a car while crossing the street, and God changed her perspective of who she is and the purpose of her life. Sophia continues working as a consultant in the field of medicine, and is the author of, "Who's says you have breast cancer?" a handbook for patients and healthcare professionals, and "The Breast," a seminal textbook on breast cancer. Her works of fiction are "COVID-19: Gripping novel inspired by real events," the sequel "Grabbing Fog," and "Forgive to Live." She blogs at www.unseendoctor.com.
