Donald L Reavis grew up in a conservative Christian home where reading and playing games were the only form of entertainment. Earning his pilot license at nineteen, he set his sights on becoming an air traffic controller. After 24 years controlling aircraft in Sothern California, he retired and returned to his home in Indiana where he lives with his wife Sharla.

In 2012 his love for backpacking took him and his wife into the High Sierra Mountains on the John Muir Trail. The following year he hiked the Pacific Crest Trail which took him back to Charlotte Lake. These experiences in the backcountry led to the writing of the Charlotte Lake series.

A father of three married children and a Grandpa to seven grandchildren, Donald enjoys golfing, painting and creating new experiences with his wife of over forty two years.
