Barbara Tifft Blakey lives on five wooded acres in Washington state with her husband, Terry. For the past twenty-five plus years she has owned a small educational press that publishes the "Total Language Plus" novel studies for homeschoolers and private Christian schools. In 2009, Kregel Publications published her first novel, "Bertie's War," a historical fiction for middle grades. She won the Oregon Christian Writers Cascade Award for unpublished historical fiction in 2014. In the spring of 2017 her novella "A Place to Belong" was included in Barbour's "The Pony Express Romance Collection" and in 2018 "Emma Underground" was included in Barbour's "The Underground Railroad Brides Collection." Also in 2018 Camden Cascade published "Christmas Stars" in its "Christmas in Time" collection. Barbara is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and Oregon Christian Writers as well as the Inklings critique group. She is represented by Tamela Hancock Murray of the Steve Laube Agency.
