Dandi Daley Mackall

Author Bio:

Dandi won her first writing contest as a 10-year-old tomboy. Her 50 words on “Why I Want to Be Batboy for the Kansas City A’s” won first place, but the team wouldn’t let a girl be batboy. It was her first taste of rejection.
Since then, Dandi Daley Mackall has become an award-winning author of about 500 books for children and adults. She visits countless schools and presents keynote addresses across the U.S. She is a frequent guest on radio talk shows and has made dozens of appearances on TV. Her awards include the Helen Keating Ott Award for Contributions to Children’s Literature, Christian Children’s Book of the Year Award for 2015 and 2017, Mom’s Choice Awards, the Edgar Award for Best Mystery, ALA Best Book, NY Public Library Top Pick, the Geoffrey Bocca Memorial Award, Dean Arts and Achievement Award, Outstanding Alumna Award from the University of Missouri, and she was inducted into the 2015 International Reading Association’s Hall of Fame. Her novel, My Boyfriends’ Dogs, is now a Hallmark movie. And her recent novel, With Love, Wherever You Are, debuted to starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and Booklist.
Dandi writes from rural Ohio, where she lives with her family and a multitude of pets.
