In this story...Joseph loves God and loves Lucinda with an undying passion. It is this love that speaks into the life of this shattered woman and brings hope.

This world may have changed since the 1800's but the challenges of life, the truth of reaping what we sow, and the need for redemption and God's amazing grace is still the same.
I, too, enjoy a wonderful love story and the entertainment value it brings and my hope is that I have brought this to the reader. But also, I care to use story as Jesus did using parables to relate to the human condition and bring a message of hope. I pray that I have accomplished both.
