Why the author wrote this book:

When Hannah was in middle school, it was extra challenging due to her health. When she finished, she remarked that she wanted to do something to help girls before they were confronted with lies about themselves. She told a story, and I realized she had a great book idea. I promised to work with her if she kept going. She plotted a three book series.
