Why the author wrote this book:

Do you ever wish you were someone else? Okay, maybe you don’t want to be someone else – maybe you’d just like to try on someone else’s shoes. Just for an hour, or a day? I often do – I watch people in airports and coffee shops; I wonder about their lives, where they live, what they do for a living….sometimes I even conjure up those lives for them. It was this curiosity I brought to the PJ Sugar story, Nothing But Trouble. And, what fun it’s been to write the story of a woman who hunts up trouble (and truth) by going undercover! I’ve actually tried to do the very things PJ does in the books – from getting a spa wrap (not my cup of tea) to jumping out of an airplane. PJ Sugar is a girl who loves adventure, loves trying out new things, and most of all loves to push herself into places that stretch her. I have to admire that kind of gal!

PJ Sugar is also a woman who wants to be all things to all people. She wants to be her nephew’s champion and her sister’s best friend, and her mother’s favorite daughter, and Boone’s special girl, and the hero of her hometown. That’s not too much to ask, is it? Maybe…because God wants her to be His girl, and satisfied in who He made her to be. And that is a journey for all of us PJ Sugars.
