The Lumberjacks' Ball (The Christy Lumber Camp Series) (Volume 2)

By Carrie Fancett Pagels

Description:

A mercantile owner’s daughter hopes to begin her life anew in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A gifted craftsman wishes to leave the lumber camp and seeks employment at her new store. When his presence dredges up memories she wishes to suppress, the proprietress must learn to face her past and open her heart. When complications arise, will they overcome adversity and welcome healing, and love, into their lives?

Book Takeaway:

Repressing the past doesn't allow healing. God will take you through and bring restoration if you let Him.

Why the author wrote this book:

While researching "The Fruitcake Challenge," my Selat-Finalist and Family Fiction Book of the Year finalist, I came upon a horrible lumberjack song that told of a young man returning to his childhood sweetheart and killing her. I simply couldn't believe anyone would have the gall to sing such a song in a lumber camp. I thought, what if that young woman had survived? What then? And this story was born.
