Everyone knows that soldiers pay a high price to serve their country. Their families also pay a price. Yet even when God doesn't answer prayers they way they hoped, He never leaves them on their own.

Why the author wrote this book:

While reading books written by Civil War soldiers and researching for another Civil War novel, I discovered that many local citizens moved from their homes into caves for safety. Soldiers wrote that women made these cave quite cozy and comfortable and the idea for this story was born.
