The Return of Miss Blueberry

By Rachael Phillips

Description:

Callie Creighton ditches her Chicago lifestyle and highly successful
career to be her best friend’s bridesmaid in her hometown of Plymouth,
Indiana. There she reunites with the childhood church that nurtured her
in Christ and runs headlong into her past. Namely, Jason Kenton, the
Mr. Hottie of her high school class she secretly adored and publicly
preached at . . . and the last person she wants to see now.
No longer the bad boy, Jason has worked hard to make up for past
mistakes—giving his life to Christ, mentoring young musicians, and
earning his master’s degree. Except leaving the past behind isn’t so simple in
a small town…especially when green-star-eyed Callie returns to Plymouth.
Is Jason really the new man he claims to be? And a decade after falling
off the Miss Blueberry float, will Callie find herself falling for him?

Book Takeaway:

Callie and Jason find that God can re-create them despite their history, even in a small town. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has
come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
—2 Corinthians 5:17

Why the author wrote this book:

I've always wanted to write a book set in my former hometown of Plymouth, Indiana, whose Blueberry Festival, a Midwestern Mardi Gras, attracts half a million people each year. Often a homecoming for former residents, Plymouth is the perfect setting for two former high school classmates trying to shed their pasts!
