Love's Journey Home

By Kelly Irvin

Description:

Helen Crouch has been a widow and single parent of four children for six years. She has come to believe it’s God’s plan that she not remarry. Otherwise why would He not put a good Plain man in her life? Gabriel Gless, a widower with eight children, lost his wife shortly after the birth of their youngest daughter three years earlier. At the urging of his cousin Thomas Brennaman, he has moved to Bliss Creek in hopes of starting a new life in a community that adheres to a strict Ordnung. Helen and Gabriel’s paths cross for the first time at a Fourth of July celebration and the results are explosive.

Despite all Helen and Gabriel have in common—the loss of their beloved spouses, raising their children alone, and their strong faith—it seems their chances of finding new love together are gone before they’ve even had an opportunity to get to know each other. Will events in the Bliss Creek Amish community conspire to keep them apart or will they overcome Edmond Crouch’s wild rumspringa, the discovery of oil, and a devastating storm to find their new beginning?

Love’s Journey Home is the story of how the families of Bliss Creek’s Amish community learn to be still and listen for the Lord’s direction and then act on faith that His plan will lead them to a long awaited new life.

Why the author wrote this book:

To explore the issue of having faith even when you don't get the answers you seek in your prayers and how how people go on and learn to love again after losing a spouse.
