My Stubborn Heart
By Becky Wade
Matt Jarreau has it all: a career as an NHL hockey player, a wife he adores, extraordinary wealth, fame. But when his young wife dies, he's so deeply devastated that he leaves his sport and returns to his small hometown of Redbud, Pennsylvania. His solitary work restoring houses allows him to hide from people, from God, and from his past.
I hope the reader will close the last page of My Stubborn Heart praising God for the faithful way that He works in the lives of His people. I also hope that the deep love between Kate and Matt will warm the hearts of my readers.
Why the author wrote this book:
Before I had children I wrote romance novels for the ABA. But after I welcomed my first baby, I promptly retired from my job as an author. For the next seven years, I poured everything I had into raising my kids. During that season I didn't hope or expect or plan to return to writing. But God, in His time, began to tug at me to craft a new story for Him and for His glory. He gave me an idea for a novel with the theme of healing, the inspiration of a hockey player hero with a broken heart, and a deep and renewed passion for the work of writing.
