Christmas At Barncastle Inn
You can experience Christmas during the time period of your choice—if you rent the entire Barncastle Inn of Vermont for the whole week of Christmas. When they first decided to do this, Jayne Barncastle is determined to prove to her parents it will work. Will she overlook her own chance for romance in the process? Will a World War II era “White Christmas” recreate a scene of forgiveness for an embittered couple? Can a pirate’s lair be the place of fun-filled reunion for old lovers? When coworkers assist in recreating the first Christmas for the inn, will they discover romance?
Christmas isn't about the perfect family scenario. In fact, Christmas can be about building bridges that lead to reconciliation--and sometimes love.
Why the author wrote this book:
My contribution to this book is the novella "Christmas Duets." I love the movie White Christmas, which is partly the inspiration for this story. My father also works out at the very-real gym where hero Sean McSweeney works out. I thought: what if a younger veteran befriended an older veteran, and helped him rediscover some of his youth? And what if this caused problems in the old man's life? Enter a very real family conflict at Christmas. Plus, Sean McSweeney brings some very real baggage of his own to Vermont.
