Risky Business

By Nicole ODell

Description:

Decisions, decisions! How is a girl supposed to choose? Lessons of right and wrong are put to the test in the Scenarios series, where you can test your decision-making abilities in an eye-opening, but safe, way. Each book follows a character up to the point where she has to make an important, life-changing decision—then it’s your turn to choose. Will your choices lead to a happy ending?

In Magna, Molly Jacobs gets hired at the ultimate girls’ clothing store and her friends--even the popular girls in school--are envious. In Making Waves, sophomore Kate Walker has decided to try something new this year. She secures a spot on her school’s swim team but soon becomes obsessed—with practice and making it through the championships with flying colors. What happens when Molly and Kate are faced with making difficult choices? How will they handle the risky business? Readers help Molly and Kate make the difficult decisions and see how their choices create consequences with life-altering results.

Book Takeaway:

Risky Business contains book 3 (Magna) and book 4 (Making Waves) in the Scenarios for Girls Interactive Fiction Series.

Why the author wrote this book:

Scenarios for Girls is designed to help tween girls learn the importance of making sound decisions. In each book, the main character arrives at a moral dilemma where the reader gets to choose! There are alternate endings based on the reader’s choice. This method gives the reader the opportunity to experience the consequences of the “wrong” choice or the rewards of the “right” one without the real-life cost. Each book also depicts forgiveness and restoration following both decisions. The contract and prayer at the end of the book ask the reader to commit to her choice and encourages her to seek accountability for it.
