Praying For Mr. Wright

By Kimberly Kirkland Absher

Description:

Hannah Cooper moved to Austin for a fresh start and promised God one thing: she would never again lose herself trying to earn someone’s love.

When her cousin asks for help organizing responses to an unusual Facebook post, a well-meaning sister-in-law searching for a wife for her worship-leading brother-in-law, Hannah agrees.

It’s harmless.
Prayerful.
Safe.

She’ll sort applications, pray over potential matches, and stay firmly on the sidelines of someone else’s love story.

There’s just one problem.
She’s already met him.

Evan Wright never wanted his sister-in-law crowdsourcing his future wife in a Christian readers group. He believes love should happen naturally, the way a melody finds harmony, the way two hearts recognize each other in God’s timing.

But Rachel means well.
The women she’s found are wonderful.

Evan’s heart is supposed to be open.
Except it isn’t.
Because the woman he can’t stop thinking about is the same woman carefully helping choose the person he might marry.
And she has no idea the man she’s falling for is the same man she’s helping find a wife.

Praying for Mr. Wright is a warm, faith-filled contemporary Christian Romance about surrendering expectations, trusting God with your heart, and discovering that sometimes the answer to prayer looks nothing like the plan you imagined.

Book Takeaway:

Trusting God’s timing means letting go of control, even when your heart is on the line.

Why the author wrote this book:

I wrote this story after seeing a real post in a Christian fiction reader group. I started praying for the sister-in-law who posted on behalf of her brother-in-law, and I prayed for those who'd respond. It stayed with me after I read it. It made me wonder what might happen if God took something ordinary, even a little complicated, and turned it into something beautiful. I wanted to explore how God could use a situation like that and write a love story no one saw coming.
