Fireman's Lesson in Love

By Mishael Austin Witty

Description:

Audrey Morland hoped her move to Chokeberry Falls and her new job as high school English teacher would bury the past and birth a fresh start. But a chance encounter with firefighter Max Winters, who is instantly smitten, turns her world upside down.

When her father’s fireworks shop burns down under suspicious circumstances, further tensions arise. Max’s investigation points to Audrey’s favorite student. With an arsonist on the loose and danger escalating, can Audrey and Max uncover the truth and save their relationship before it all goes up in flames?

Book Takeaway:

No matter the fire you’re walking through, hope and love are never out of reach.

Why the author wrote this book:

I wrote this story:

To speak directly to the hopeful but weary reader—the one who longs to believe that love and healing are possible in their own life.

To show love is real: Through Audrey and Max, I wanted to portray romance that feels both tender and earned. Something more than just fairy-tale love.

To show healing is possible: Audrey’s past, her father’s loss, and the suspicion surrounding her favorite student mirror the real wounds readers carry. I wrote this story to remind them that brokenness doesn’t disqualify them from hope.

To show hope always wins: By weaving suspense, faith, and romance together, I sought to create a narrative where danger and doubt are real—but God’s love and grace prove stronger.
